You get a plain-English profile of how they actually reason — and thirty minutes with one of our academics who reads it to you and tells you what it means for year placement, subject choice, and how much support they would really need. It costs €20, and the profile is yours to keep whether you enrol with us or not.

One to one, at a time that works in your time zone. This is the part parents tell us was worth the €20 — and if the profile points somewhere other than Inventum, we will say so.
Why families use it
You are being asked to decide a lot, on very little.
Which year they enter. Which subjects to commit to. Whether they need a teacher beside them every week or would do better left alone with the material. Most parents make those calls on a report card written by the school being judged. This gives you something to decide with.
Which year they enter
Whether they are ready for the year their age suggests, a year below, or further ahead than their last school placed them. Reasoning travels between curricula. A transcript does not.

Where their reasoning is genuinely strongest — and which subject combinations tend to go badly for a profile like theirs.
How much support to buy
Whether they will thrive working independently or need scheduled teaching to hold momentum. This is the difference between the right package and an expensive guess.
Where a gap will open
Reasoning profiles show up in results eighteen months later. Seeing the pattern now, before it becomes a grade, is the whole reason to do this early.

Common questions before you book.
What parents usually want to know before paying for the CAT4 Learning Profile and the pathway call.
What is the CAT4, exactly?
A standardised cognitive assessment used by selective and international schools worldwide. It measures reasoning across four areas — verbal, non-verbal, quantitative and spatial — rather than testing what your child has been taught.
Is it an IQ test?
No. It measures how your child approaches different kinds of problem, and it produces a profile rather than a single number. There is no pass mark and nothing to revise for.
How long does it take?
Around two hours in total, and it does not have to be done in one go. Short sittings with breaks generally give a more accurate picture than one long session.
English is not my child's first language. Does that skew the result?
It affects the verbal reasoning section, which is exactly why CAT4 reports all four areas separately rather than as one score. The non-verbal, quantitative and spatial results are unaffected, and we take language background into account when we read the profile with you.
Is the call a sales call?
No. It is thirty minutes about your child's results. If the profile suggests they would do better somewhere other than here — a school with a classroom in it, a different curriculum, a different year group — we will tell you that, and why. If you want to discuss enrolling at Inventum, you are welcome to raise it.
Do we have to enrol with Inventum?
No. Plenty of families use the profile and go elsewhere, and it is built to be useful either way. If you do enrol, the €20 comes off your tuition.
Can this diagnose dyslexia or ADHD?
No — CAT4 is not a clinical assessment. It can show where a closer look might be warranted, which is often a useful first step, but a diagnosis requires an educational psychologist.
What if my child has an off day?
Tell us on the call. We read profiles in context, and a result that does not match what you see at home is itself worth discussing — sometimes it is the most useful thing to come out of the session.
Can we use the report somewhere else?
Yes. It is yours. Families take it to tutors, to new schools, and to educational psychologists.
What happens to my child's data?
It is used to schedule, administer and review the CAT4 profile with your family, and nothing else. We do not sell it, and we share it only with the assessment provider to run the test.
