The Cambridge and Pearson Computer Science syllabus covers 20 topics. Your teacher works through them with you one-to-one, at a pace that matches how quickly you pick each one up.
5 externally marked papers, set by Cambridge and Pearson. Exams are sat in person at a registered exam centre — your success coach helps you find one near you.
Paper 1 will assess sections 1 to 8 of the syllabus content. Written paper. Externally assessed.
Paper 2 will assess sections 9 to 12 of the syllabus content. Candidates will need to write answers in pseudocode. Written paper. Externally assessed.
Paper 3 will assess sections 13 to 20 of the syllabus content. Written paper. Externally assessed.
Paper 4 will assess sections 19 to 20 of the syllabus content, except for low-level and declarative programming. Candidates will submit complete program code and evidence of testing. Candidates will be required to use either Java, VB.NET or Python programming languages. Externally assessed.
Questions based on the experimental skills of planning, analysis and evaluation.

Computer Science is assessed through 5 externally marked papers: Paper 1 - Theory Fundamentals, Paper 2 Fundamental Problem - solving and Programming Skills, Paper 3 Advanced Theory, Paper 4 Practical, Paper 5 - Planning, Analysis and Evaluation. Full details are in the assessment section above.
Written exams are taken in person at a registered Cambridge and Pearson exam centre. There are centres in most countries, and your success coach helps you find and register with one near you.
