What you'll study in IGCSE English 1st Language

The Cambridge English 1st Language syllabus covers 4 topics. Your teacher works through them with you one-to-one, at a pace that matches how quickly you pick each one up.

Cambridge IGCSE First Language English offers candidates the opportunity to

  • respond with understanding to a rich array of reading texts during the course as a whole
  • use these texts to inform and inspire their own writing, and write in a range of text types for different purposes and audiences.

How IGCSE English 1st Language is assessed

2 externally marked papers, set by Cambridge. Exams are sat in person at a registered exam centre — your success coach helps you find one near you.
