The Cambridge route shown here has 4 externally marked papers. Exams are sat in person at a suitable registered exam centre. The family arranges registration and pays the centre; paid assistance from Inventum is available separately.
Candidates answer two questions from Section A (Core Content) and one question from Section B (Depth Studies). All questions are in the form of structured essays, split into three parts: (a), (b) and (c). Externally assessed
Candidates answer six questions on one prescribed topic taken from the Core Content. There is a range of source material relating to each prescribed topic. The prescribed topic changes in each examination session – see section 4. Externally assessed

Yes. You can take History as a single subject alongside another school, or as part of a full-time IGCSE programme with Inventum. Many families start with one subject and add more later.
History is assessed through 4 externally marked papers: Paper 1 - Written paper, Paper 2 - Written paper, Component 3 Coursework, Paper 4 - Alternative to Coursework - Written paper. Full details are in the assessment section above.
Written exams are taken in person at a suitable registered exam centre. Your family is responsible for finding the centre, registering by its deadline, and paying its fees. Inventum offers a separate paid add-on to help find and communicate with a centre; the centre's own fee is not included.
IGCSE History is recognised internationally and supports progression to A-Levels, IB or other post-16 study.
